  • Research Co-op Student, GERAS Centre

“Working with staff and seniors in a long-term care home helped me develop a passion for improving the health care experience for seniors. I am honoured to be part of the multidisciplinary team at the GERAS centre, which aims to enable people to age with dignity and independence through intervention-based research. I hope to help improve health care innovations and develop new models of care to combat the growing number of challenges within the aging population.”

Yun Bo is a third year Molecular Biology and Genetics student at McMaster university and is passionate about clinical research. She is completing her first co-op term at the GERAS centre and is mainly involved in the Frailty Rehab and Fit Joints Studies.

Yun Bo has previous experience working with seniors at Southlake Residential Care Village, where she worked with the life enrichment team to improve the quality of life for residents through running recreational activities. She looks forward to applying her knowledge in research and geriatrics while working with the team at the GERAS centre, as well as gain experience in project development. Yun Bo hopes to make a positive impact on the health care system and contribute to improving the safety and efficacy of treatments.
