Bio: Dr. Heather McLeod is a Staff Geriatrician based at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton. She completed her Medical degree and Internal Medicine training at McMaster, followed by Geriatric Medicine Fellowship training at the University of Toronto. Dr. McLeod returned to McMaster in 2010 to work with the Geriatricians who originally inspired her to pursue a career in Geriatrics. Dr. McLeod holds a Masters of Education degree from the University of Toronto, OISE, and continues to be involved in educating both Undergraduate and Postgraduate trainees. She is currently the Director of Clerkship Integration for the Undergraduate MD Program at McMaster and the Competency Committee Chair for the Geriatric Medicine Residency Program at McMaster. Her Academic interests include the longitudinal integration of Geriatrics principles within Undergraduate and Postgraduate clinical education, with the goal of improving the care of older adults in the acute and chronic care settings.
