Maggie Lovett is a second-year internal medicine resident at McMaster University conducting research at the GERAS Centre. A native of Halifax, NS, Maggie completed both her undergraduate and medical degree at Dalhousie University. Her grandmother has been a strong positive role model throughout her life and has been the main inspiration in her decision to pursue geriatrics as a career. She is passionate about providing the best care for our elderly patients and educating fellow residents and medical students around the same. She was an editor for the McMaster Red Book section on Geriatrics, designed to help residents and clerks on call for general medicine rotations.
“I am passionate about promoting positive aging and improving quality of life for older adults. My current research area involves sarcopenia and frailty in older adults undergoing elective joint replacement.”
