Lavan is currently completing his final year of the Honours Life Sciences Co-op program at McMaster University. During his undergraduate studies, he was involved in a wide variety of rehabilitation projects such as the use of motion sensors in pediatric walking tests, and the evaluation of a mobile app used by physiotherapists to assess walking in stroke patients.
Currently at GERAS, he is involved in FitHips, a study that aims to improve the pre-operative health status of patients undergoing hip replacement surgery through a multimodal intervention. Outside of his studies, Lavan enjoys volunteering at school and in the community. He is currently volunteering at Frontier College as a tutor for high school students.
