Dr. Lora Giangregorio is an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo. She is also an Adjunct Scientist at the University Health Network – Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and a member of the Scientific Advisory Council for Osteoporosis Canada. Her research aims to improve the management of osteoporosis, with a particular focus on the importance of exercise for a healthy skeleton.
Dr. Giangregorio and an international team led the Too Fit To Fracture initiative to develop exercise and physical activity recommendations for individuals with osteoporosis.
“I am committed to enhancing osteoporosis management in long-term care, to reduce the burden of fractures. Exercise programs are one example of an intervention that can reduce falls, and perhaps fractures in long-term care residents.”
